Faber Industrie expands its presence in the hydrogen storage.

Busan, the second biggest city in South Korea, has its first city-type hydrogen refueling station in place since 23rd August 2019. The station, which is owned by Hyundai Motor Group, has been designed and built by Air Liquide and it is operated by Daedo Energy Co.

The buffers for the hydrogen storage use Faber Cylinders. Faber’s Type 1 cylinders (550 bar as Medium pressure) for hydrogen have been granted KGSC (Korea Gas Safety Corporation) under Korea regulation. Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) grant an exception for Faber Type 2 cylinders (1000 bar as High pressure). The head of Daedo hydrogen station explained that at present the Hydrogen fueling capability is 50 passenger vehicles (i.e. Nexo) and 5 buses (Elec city) per day and fueling time for each vehicle is 3~5 min. for passenger car and 15min. for bus. He is quite confident on Faber cylinder performance because he has also experienced Faber CNG cylinder’s high quality by operating CNG refueling station at the same site.

The Hydrogen storage can be easily increased by adding additional buffers. The design of the buffer with Faber Cylinders is the most flexible and efficient solution to meet soaring Hydrogen demand while maintaining a compact footprint. Faber has been present in Korea since 2000 by serving the CNG and Industrial market.

Recently, Faber has further strengthened its position within the country, also through its 100% controlled subsidiary Faber Korea, in light of a growing market demand for the Hydrogen Mobility.

Established in 1969 and operating since 1972, Faber has grown rapidly to become the world’s leader in the production of cylinders (Types 1, 2, 3 & 4) and systems for the storage of High-Pressure Gases for the Clean Energy (CNG and H2), Industrial and Air Breathing sectors. The world over, with a production capacity of a million cylinders, Faber has earned the best reputation for its high standards of quality and for its capability to comply with the most stringent specifications set down by International Bodies, Local Authorities and its customers.
