Established in 1969, operating since 1972, Faber Industrie has grown rapidly to become the The Leading Supplier of High-Pressure Gas Cylinders and Systems (Types 1, 2, 3 & 4) for the storage of high-pressure gases. The world over, Faber has earned the best reputation for its high standards of quality and for its capability to comply with the most stringent specifications set down by International Bodies, Local Authorities and its customers. A complete suite of cylinders, with water capacity ranging from 1 to 800 litres, five modern factories, a competent fully trained workforce, with a devotion to quality and flexibility, has made Faber a truly global supplier of high-pressure cylinders throughout the five continents.
Our factories in the North East of Italy, with a total floor space of 100.000 m2, have a manufacturing capacity of almost one million cylinders per year. With this high production capacity coupled with built in quality, Faber is viewed as the industry leader in the supply of high-pressure cylinders.

All our factories are regularly inspected by independent Notified Bodies and audited according to the requirements of the pertinent Safety Authorities, multinational gas companies and vehicle manufacturers. Furthermore, all our factories are rigorously evaluated/accredited and managed as an ongoing component of Faber’s Quality Management System which include certifications to ISO 9001, IATF16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.

1969

Renzo Toffolutti established Faber Industrie. The first manufacturing facility for manufacturing seamless steel gas cylinders via a plate route was set up in Cividale del Friuli, in North-East Italy.

1970-1980

Renzo Toffolutti established Faber Industrie. The first manufacturing facility for manufacturing seamless steel gas cylinders via a plate route was set up in Cividale del Friuli, in North-East Italy.

1980-1990

Faber promptly developed the export market achieving 65% of total turnover by selling our products all over the world. A new manufacturing line from seamless spun-tube was set up nearby Cividale del Friuli to diversify the raw material range thus achieving better service to customers in different market segments

1990-2000

Faber achieved the ISO 9001 certification. Faber purchased, from Simmel Difesa, an industrial facility in Castelfranco Veneto (TV), three manufacturing lines from hot-pierced billet. This meant that Faber became a unique worldwide cylinder manufacturer to hold all three production methods to manufacture a cylinder i.e. plate, billet and tube. A composite line was implemented for Type 2 cylinders in Cividale, both for CNG and medical applications. Faber successfully implemented the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by SAP becoming an SAP testimonial for SMEs

2000-2010

Faber set up two new and completely automated/robotic manufacturing lines from a coil. This integrated in-house the initial processing phase to move from plate to coil achieving a better raw material quality control and suppliers' diversification. A new composite line was implemented for Type 3 cylinders in Cividale. With more automation implemented (+100 robots) meant our total annual capacity was now one million cylinders. Faber achieved the ISO 14001 and ISO/TS certifications. Faber became the preferred supplier of numerous major Motor Companies with CNG projects

Present

Faber completed the Type 4 design and industrialization to become the key cylinder manufacturer in the world to market Types 1,2,3,4 cylinders. Faber has developed in-house a full capability to meet a growing demand for hydrogen applications which include storage, transport, refilling stations, onboard use and a state-of-the-art laboratory to perform all the required tests up to 1100 bar. Faber is now also a competent manufacturer and provider of systems which fully integrate Cylinders into Racks for Vehicles, Bundles and Multi Element Gas Containers for Trailers and Buffers for Refilling Stations. Faber has also implemented a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software in all its manufacturing factories and integrated the ERP/SAP with it to excel in operations management
